Pray for Elsengg Bible Translation in Asia Pacific

Literacy Expanding Among Lolo People of Mozambique
Orthography: a Steppingstone to Biblical Literacy
“I think we are narrowing in on what might be next.”
Pray for National Co-workers being equipped in Bolivia & Paraguay
Randy and Laurie Steel minister in Paraguay. Randy ministers as a culture and language acquisition consultant there. “A group of five graduates from the missionary training centre in Bolivia are currently finishing up a two-month practicum time in Paraguay among the Sanapaná people. Its focus is on putting into practice the basics of language and culture learning and in building relationships with the people, along with some time to visit and get to know other missionaries and support workers here in Paraguay. Pray with us and them, that this time would be a growing and learning opportunity as they seek God’s direction and calling for their future ministry in Paraguay, Bolivia or somewhere else.”
First Baptism in the Tanguat Church!
“Rejoice with us!”
Derek and Chantal Chen minister among the Tanguat people of Papua New Guinea. “Rejoice with us! We were so privileged to witness the first-ever baptism in the Tanguat church. Sixteen brothers and sisters in Christ chose to be baptized on June 25! Hallelujah! It’s been a long and winding journey for the Tanguat church to get to this point. Since the church was born in August 2015, it has gone through many years of ups and downs. Last Sunday marked the first time Tanguat believers were willing to take that step of obedience to become disciples of Jesus! We were so encouraged to hear them publicly declare their trust in Jesus as the only way to the Father and their desire to follow him.” Watch a video.
Not enough Bible teachers for all the interest in Asia Pacific
Ed and Jeanne Casteel minister among the Wana people of Asia Pacific. “Jeanne and I continue to rejoice in the amazing things God is doing in Asia Pacific and more specifically among the Wana people. New outreaches are continuing to open up to us, creating a challenge to keep up with enough teachers and evangelists to go around. One [is a] new village outreach. These folks have had a national church organization among them for a number of years, but the Bible is taught in the national language, and they are not understanding. They are now asking for us to teach them in their own mother tongue. They also want to learn how to read and write, so this week one of our literacy teachers is going over [to that village] to begin literacy lessons with them. Another great opportunity for us. As we have said many times, these last couple of years have been some of the most exciting times of our missionary career as we have seen the gospel explode among the Wana people! Pray for them that the gospel would be made clear, and also pray for ‘Annie Bowa’ as she begins literacy classes with them (20 people signed up for literacy).”
