Pray for a good time of fellowship and collaboration. Pray that the church leaders will leave the meeting refreshed and that they will have concrete strategies for how to shepherd the churches. Pray that in addition to their spiritual needs, God will provide for the churches’ physical needs too — especially for rain during this drought.
Pray for the team — including the LeBlancs, Jonathan and Devon Ames, and Jacob and Katie DeValve — as they prepare to teach, that God would give them peace, clarity and wisdom. The team is previewing the Bible lessons with three Kuyu friends: Augustine, Thadeus and Vincent. Pray that they will understand the gospel and become some of the first Kuyu believers.
Bill Michaud attended a week of fellowship between the Pawaian and Gimi churches — two people groups who have been growing closer together as the Gimi church leaders have discipled the Pawaian believers for 10 years. During this celebration, “the responsibility for leading the 12 Pawaian churches was transferred from the Gimi men to the Pawaian men. … Keep the groups in your prayers for the Pawaians to be faithful and for the Gimis as they have already identified another group that needs to be discipled.”
Praise God that “there are always Kovol people eager to help check Bible passages we are translating.” Finally, pray for the biweekly kids club. “We are hoping to start teaching them the gospel this month. Please pray for regular attendance and clear understanding!”
