“There were electricity and water issues. By the end of the check, we were having baths out of buckets filled from a dribble under the house. There was a typhoon in the region so the helicopter couldn't fly JJ, [our consultant], out – so we all headed out overland (yes, that’s all four of us plus luggage on the one bike. Filipino bike drivers are absolute ninjas!) But spirits were high and praises to God abundant. All praise to Him! The Banwaon now have the Gospel of Matthew in their own language! We [then] had a long weekend on a nearby island to rest and recalibrate. Then straight back into things — finalizing Matthew, working with four separate teams to prepare John’s Gospel for consultant checking this November.”
