Ben and Tabea Kirk minister in Asia Pacific. “In the last week, a lot has been planned for the end of this month.
“Firstly, our main consultant and another will fly [in] and try to test our language ability. We hope this will be our final language evaluation. That would mean that we are officially fluent in [the national] language and culture and ready to move on to the next language.
“We were actually hoping to have this evaluation before [our previous home assignment in 2022], so since we got back, we have mainly been trying to catch up on what we lost from being out of the country for nine months.
“Secondly, directly after our language evaluation we hope to hold some team meetings with leadership that will also be arriving.
“These meetings are important for our team to develop a strategy for how we will transition into [the people group] ministry in a remote location now that most families have finished their language study and many surveys have been carried out. We will most likely be discussing which locations to focus our efforts on and possible scenarios for team formation.
“In preparation for these meetings, the team will be doing their best to gather information particularly relating to the permissions for [a new language group] which we mentioned in our last prayer letter.
“Pray that we will pass the language evaluation and for the meetings with leadership.”
